Nkazy Zulu Joins MaxNote as A&R Manager and Announces New Compilation

NkazyZulu joins MaxNote

MaxNote is proud to announce the appointment of Nkazy Zulu as our new A&R Manager. A dedicated house music content creator and compiler, Nkazy Zulu brings a deep passion for House Music and a keen ear for talent to the MaxNote team.

Zulu’s journey into house music began in 2008, introduced to the sound by her older brother. Early influences like Revolution sparked a fascination that has evolved into a lifelong connection. For Nkazy Zulu, House Music is a comprehensive genre that seamlessly integrates elements of Jazz, R&B, and Soul.

The Groove Within, Vol. 1

To mark her new role, Zulu is releasing a curated compilation titled The Groove Within, Vol. 1 under Eden Groove Sounds, a label recently acquired by MaxNote Media.

The compilation focuses on a specific sound that Zulu describes as a blend of garage, nu-disco, and house. This project aims to shine a light on a style of music she feels is often overlooked despite its international appeal.

“I really wanted to concentrate on this type of sound because I feel like it’s a sound that we don’t really pay much attention to, but I think it’s so cool,” Nkazy Zulu explains.

A Vision for A&R

As Zulu steps into her role as A&R Manager, her focus is on authenticity and creative bravery. She is looking for artists who prioritise the art of creation over digital metrics or fleeting trends.

  • Heart-Centered Music: Nkazy Zulu is searching for talent making music from the heart rather than chasing fame or hype.
  • Sonic Exploration: She seeks producers who are not afraid to explore and commit to their own unique sound.
  • Passion over Numbers: Her priority remains fresh talent and passion, regardless of monthly listener counts.

With The Groove Within, Vol. 1, Nkazy Zulu begins her tenure by championing the sounds that shaped her journey, bridging the gap between underground authenticity and the global house stage.
